Why We Need Specific Details to Provide a Moving Quote

A moving quote is only as accurate as the information behind it. Clear and accurate details mean a more accurate estimated load and a clearer quote. With vague details, we will not be able to provide a quote as it defeats the purpose of providing a quote. When the information is incomplete, any figure would be an estimate with a wide margin, which is less useful for planning your move.

To provide an accurate quote for your move, we ask for three main things:

1. Photos and an Item List

Photos and a list of what is moving let us assess your volume and identify any bulky or special items without a site visit. An accurate list of items to move enables us to estimate your load accurately, and that will give you a clearer idea of how much your move will cost.

2. Postal Codes (From and To)

In Singapore, a postal code identifies the exact location. This helps us understand your moving requirements better. For moves involving distance pushing, especially condo moves, we can check the distance we have to push using Google Maps and the development’s site plan, and factor the push distance into an accurate quote.

What Is Distance Pushing?

Distance pushing applies when we are unable to load or unload directly below your block. This usually means we have to park at a designated lot away from your block, outside the development or by the roadside, and push your items between the truck and your block’s lift lobby for loading and unloading.

3. Estimated Number of Boxes

Boxes take up space in the truck, and to provide an accurate quote, we need to factor in an estimated number of boxes. If you have boxes to move and they are not included in your details, the quote will not be accurate. Just a rough gauge is enough for us to get a better idea of what to expect for your estimated load with this amount of boxes.

If you’re unsure of the number of boxes you need, fret not. We will estimate for you based on the number of people you are packing for, just let us know.

Once we have these details, we review your information and send you a quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my quote change after I receive it?

Yes. We charge based on your actual load of items moved on the day of the move. If that differs from what was described at enquiry or onsite assessment, the final amount can change. As long as your photos and item list are accurate, the quote stays close to the estimate.

Why do you need photos?

Photos let us better estimate your load, assess and identify bulky or special items directly, as well as items requiring disassembly and reassembly service – which is more helpful than a written description alone.

Why postal codes instead of full addresses at this stage?

Your postal code is enough for us to check the access conditions at your pickup and delivery locations. We do not ask for full addresses including your unit number at the point of enquiry or quotation, unless an onsite assessment is required. We only require your full address once you have confirmed your move with us.

Do you provide boxes?

Yes, we provide boxes – free on loan basis. The size of our box: L52cm x H40cm x W40cm (double wall).
